Orio becomes Hedin Parts and Logistics

News / 15 December, 2022

The new name marks the start of an expansion to become a leading European distributor of spare parts and provider of logistics services.

The spare parts distributor and logistics company Orio AB, which was acquired by Hedin Mobility Group earlier this year, is changing its name to Hedin Parts and Logistics AB. The name change reflects the company’s position as the center of Hedin Mobility Group’s spare parts distribution business and marks the next step in the Group’s strategy to expand its spare parts and accessories distribution business in both Sweden and Europe.
“Hedin Mobility Group is expanding rapidly in Europe and we are now taking the next step in growing the Group’s business. With Hedin Parts and Logistics, we will build a spare parts distribution operation for the entire European market that will create added value throughout the value chain. The vehicle manufacturers and brands we work with will thereby gain an even stronger European partner in us“, said Anders Hedin, founder and CEO of Hedin Mobility Group.
Hedin Mobility Group is today an importer, distributor and/or retailer for over forty brands across Europe. For these brands, the spare parts distribution to the Group’s own and external retailers will now be brought together in Hedin Parts and Logistics. In addition, the company will also grow the business with several new product groups that will also be offered to the wider market.
“Spare parts distribution is a critical part of the value chain for workshops and end customers. We are building on Swedish industrial history and the infrastructure, competence and capacity inherited from Saab to Orio and on to Hedin Parts and Logistics, to become a leading European distributor of spare parts and accessories. This will benefit Hedin Mobility Group’s partners, retailers and end customers and bring investments and new job opportunities in Sweden, Europe and beyond“, said Nicholas Tengelin, CEO of Hedin Parts and Logistics.
Orio was formerly known as Saab Automobile Parts and is the exclusive global supplier of Saab Original spare parts. The investments in Hedin Parts and Logistics do not entail any changes to the company’s Saab business. The company will also continue to provide logistics services to external automotive and industrial customers.
“Since 1947, we have supplied workshops and enthusiasts worldwide with Saab Original spare parts. As long as there is demand, we will continue to do so“, said Nicholas Tengelin.
The formal name change from Orio AB to Hedin Parts and Logistics AB has already been completed, while the official launch of Hedin Parts and Logistics as a brand is planned for February 1, 2023.
